Je suis partie 4 jours à Séville en mars 2024 avec mon homme et un couple d'amis. Après un vol de 2h30 nous voilà arrivés dans la capitale andalouse réputée pour son flamenco (et tellement d'autres choses). Nous avons choisi de poser nos valises à l'hotel Fernando III, pas des plus foufous, mais très bien placé et doté d'une terrasse avec piscine qui offre une très jolie vue sur la ville. Trop tôt pour y nager mais pour y boire un verre en fin de journée, c'est un vrai bonheur!
I went 4 days to Seville in March 2024 with my husband and a few friends. After a 2.5 hour flight, we arrived in the Andalusian capital famous for its flamenco (and so much more). We chose to put our bags down at the Hotel Fernando III, which wasn't the craziest, but it was very well placed and had a terrace with a swimming pool offering a beautiful view of the city. It was too early for a swim, but it was perfect for a drink at the end of the day.

Plaza de Espana
Une des plus belles et grandes places de Séville. Sa forme arrondie, sa fontaine, sa tour, ses ponts et son palais en font un endroit atypique et phénoménal!
One of the most beautiful and largest squares in Seville. Its rounded shape, fountain, tower, bridges and palace make it an unusual and phenomenal place to visit!
Construit au IXème siècle, le Palais Royal a été plusieurs fois modifié suite notamment à un gros tremblement de terre en 1356. Il est inscrit depuis plus de 30 ans au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Allez vous y perdre, les jardins sont merveilleux. N'oubliez pas de réserver votre visite, il y a souvent des files interminables!
Built in the 9th century, the royal palace has been modified several times, notably following a major earthquake in 1356. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for over 30 years. Lose yourself in the marvellous gardens. Don't forget to book your visit, as there are often long queues!
3. La Giralda
La Giralda est l'ancien minaret de la grande mosquée. Copié sur celui de Marrakech, il est devenu le clocher de la cathédrale Notre Dame du Siège.
The Giralda is the former minaret of the Great Mosque. Copied from the one in Marrakech, it is now the bell tower of Notre-Dame du Siège cathedral.
4. Métropol Parasol (Setas de Sevilla)
Hyper impressionnante, cette structure de bois de 150 mètres x 75 et d'une hauteur de 28 mètres, propose une incroyable vue sur tout Séville. Moi ça m'a vraiment scotchée, voir ce "champignon" géant en plein centre ville fut une belle découverte.
This 150 x 75 metre, 28 metre high wooden structure offers (as you can imagine!) an incredible view of the whole of Seville. It took my breath away, and seeing this giant 'mushroom' right in the city centre was a wonderful discovery.
Monument emblématique de la ville, la Plaza de toros est la plus grande arène d'Espagne (elle peut accueillir près de 13.000 spectateurs. C'est très impressionnant et le musée qui s'y trouve vaut la peine d'être visité si l'évolution et l'histoire de la corrida vous intéresse.
One of the city's most emblematic monuments, the Plaza de Toros is the largest bullring in Spain, with a capacity of almost 13,000 spectators. It's very impressive, and the museum inside is well worth a visit if you're interested in the evolution and history of bullfighting.

Immense coup de coeur! Juste en face de notre hotel, ce petit resto qui ne paye pas de mine fut notre plus délicieuse découverte. L'aubergine, mamamia!
We fell in love with it! Right opposite our hotel, this little restaurant that doesn't look like much was our greatest discovery. The aubergine, mamamia!

Cordoue
Nous avions très envie d'aller visiter les villes de Grenade et Cordoue mais la première se trouvait un peu trop loin pour faire l'aller/retour dans la journée. Nous avons donc opté pour Cordoue qui se trouve à une centaine de kilomètres (comptez 1h20). Après avoir récupéré notre voiture de location (Sixt), nous voilà parti vers l'ancienne ville romaine. Nous voulions absolument visiter la Mezquita, une immense mosquée datant de 784. Et nous avons été époustouflé! Vraiment! A part ça, nous nous sommes baladés, avons déjeuné au soleil et puis retour sur Séville.
We absolutely wanted to visit the cities of Granada and Cordoba, but the former was a little too far away to make the round trip in a day. So we opted for Córdoba, which is around 100 kilometres away (1 hour 20 minutes). After collecting our hire car (Sixt), we set off for the ancient Roman city. We absolutely had to visit the Mezquita, a huge mosque dating back to 784, and we were blown away! We were really blown away! After that, we went for a walk, had lunch in the sunshine and headed back to Seville.
